SUMMARY:Flameworking Essentials
DESCRIPTION:Flameworking Essentials is a two day workshop for people who want to learn methods and techniques of working with Borosilicate glass at the torch. The class will cover the fundamentals of working with solid rod and hollow forms. Participants will have the opportunity to learn flame working skills and techniques that will allow them to experiment\, practice and construct with glass at the torch. Techniques will include gathering\, shaping\, stretching\, sculpting\, bridging and blowing. The working day will be structured around demonstrations and plenty of individual practice at the torch. There will be individual guidance. The class will be focused on exploration and investigation rather than finished products. There will also be discussions about studio set up the different families of glass that can be used at the torches along with guidance about what equipment will work best for individual practise. \nFor more information or to apply for a place please contact andreaspencerglass@gmail.com

DESCRIPTION:Create Your Own Stained Glass Panel In One Day\n\n\n\n\nLearn the beautiful art of stained glass windows as Deirdre Buckley Cairns guides you through the process in a one day workshop. You will learn how to cut glass\, use the lead\, solder\, cement\, polish\, and how to display your finished piece.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin Deirdre for her next Stained Glass Workshop on Saturday March 26th 2022\, in Church Cross Hall just outside Skibbereen\, West Cork. \n\n\nEveryone will create a 24cm sq stained glass leaded panel ready to hang. The workshop is €125 for the day\, it’s 9am-6pm. All of the designs\, materials\, tools\, teas\, coffees and biscuits will be supplied. It’s in the hall at Church Cross\, St Mathews\, and there is a kitchen there to heat up your lunch.\n\nAll welcome. It’s a great day out being creative in a relaxed fun atmosphere.

DESCRIPTION:Learn to create a beautiful glass panel using the Copper Foil technique of Stained Glass. \nYou will learn: \nTo use a pattern\, cut glass\, grind and foil\, solder\, and finally to finish off your piece with patinas and polish. We will then add loops and chain for your panel so it can be displayed proudly in your home.  \nAll materials are included in the cost of the course. There is no experience necessary as you will be taught every aspect of the making process. Lunch is not included.

SUMMARY:Favourite Glass Painting and Printing Techniques for Stained Glass - Joseph Cavalieri
DESCRIPTION:New York artist Joseph Cavalieri will give a special one day class at Glint to share his four favourite processes for adding images onto stained glass. Techniques learned and practiced in class include painting\, penning \, air-brushing and silk-screening using a pre-made silk screen Joseph will bring to class. Pre mixed enamels are applied to stained glass\, then fired in a kiln. Many of samples will be made for you to incorporate in your future stained glass works. No need to be a professional painter\, as we will be tracing images. \nIf you are new to stained glass or a seasoned professional this class will appeal to you. Framing\, lighting will be discussed in class\, along with a “Marketing for Artists” and “Advice on Art Residencies” lecture. \nNumbers limited. \nDates: Sunday\, 27th of March and Monday 28th of March 2022
