DESCRIPTION:Join us for an exciting Flame Working Class with the talented artist Emma Bourke in Mayo! This is a GSOI member class. Learn the art of creating stunning glass pieces using a torch. This in-person event at Mulranny Arts is perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to to avail of this heavily discounted class\, to learn flame working under Emma’s guidance. Places are very limited so book your spot now! \nDiscover foundational techniques for sculpting glass at the torch\, including bridging\, solid-sculpting\, and lace work. Emma’s passion for history\, mythology\, and folklore will enrich your experience as you explore the cultural roots intertwined with glass artistry. Through demonstrations and hands-on experience\, you’ll gain the skills needed to create your own unique pieces. Emma’s expertise and personalized guidance will empower you to tap into your intuition and infuse your work with individuality. Explore the intersection of art and storytelling as we delve into the cultural significance of glass sculpture. Don’t miss this opportunity to unlock your creativity and develop a new skill in the art of lampworked glass in an immersive workshop. \nEmma’s teaching will be complimented by Cheryl Browne owner of Mulranny arts. She will instruct on beadmaking and pattern forming on a small scale at the torch. The class will be divided into two groups alternating from beadmaking skills to larger format work during the three days. \nAlong with expert guidance from Emma and Cheryl in the well-equipped flameworking studio\, there will be time for student interaction\, networking events and brainstorming ideas. The GSoI will invite all course participants to take part in the evening presentation dicussing their own work for 5 mins in an informal chat and information sharing. \nTreat your creative self to a stimulating few days\, building your glass skills\, meeting like-minded people in the stunning location of Mulranny Arts on the shores of Clew Bay.
