On the evening of Friday the 8th of May, deep into lockdown, we decided to host a social gathering with our members, to lift spirits, enjoy some glassy company and get to say hello to some people we may not have met yet.
It was a really wonderful event! We had people joining us from all over Ireland and as some from as far flung as America and Denmark.
We had (I think) every practise represented with blowers, lampworkers, fusers, casters, stained, engraving, collectors and historians. We had old pro’s and newbies, professionals and hobbyists.
We each took a turn to introduce ourselves, show off our favourite glass and tell little anecdotes.
At the end we asked a few questions of each other and wrapped up with a poll if we should do it again….. Yes we should!
