ReView, Exhibition and Gathering

The Glass Society of Ireland (GSOI) presents ReView – a unique, eco-conscious exhibition, part of our ‘sustainability’ themed programming for the International Year of Glass 2022.
The pop-up exhibition will take place on September 10th and 11th across the grounds of Hunting Brook Gardens, Blessington, Co. Wicklow.
These stunning gardens are made up of five acres of contemporary exotic gardens and fifteen acres of woodland gardens and valley. The exhibition will use minimal resources and only natural light giving new perspectives to existing work through responsive installation.
To be considered GSOI members were asked to submit a 2 minute video on what piece of old or unresolved work they wanted to ReView and why. Our final selection was supported by two guest jurors; USA-based artist and former Creative Director of the iconic Pilchuck Glass school Tina Aufiero, and award-winning gardener and owner of Hunting Brook, Jimi Blake.
The 15 artists selected are: Alison Byrne, Clare Bowe, Donna Coogan, Emer O’Donnell, Eva Kelly, Gwyn Grace, Maresa Edwards, Marja Huhta, Michelle Ryan, Rachel McDonnell, Róisín de Buitléar, Sinead Brennan, Sophie Longwill and Suzanne O’Sullivan.
Guests are welcome to visit in person on Saturday 10th, 4pm – 7pm and Sunday 11th, 11am -3pm. Admission to the garden is normally €8 but during the specially extended hours for this event it’s a ‘pay-what-you-can’ suggested donation. All the artists will be present over the weekend so it is a great chance to meet the maker and learn more about the glass making processes.
