The Glass Society of Ireland are delighted to announce that the quilt was displayed in Áras an Uachtaráin Dec 2021 – Jan 2022.
President Micheal D Higgins received members of the Glass Society of Ireland to view the the Glass Quilt installation in the State Dining Room on Thursday December 16th 2021.

The Glass Quilt is a unique collaborative project undertaken by members of the Glass Society of Ireland during the 3rd wave of Covid 19 and subsequent 12 weeks of lockdown. Confined to 5km from their homes and studios, 50 glassmakers came together virtually to collaborate on a large glass quilt.


One of the primary aims of this project was to look after members’ mental health through creating active connections within our glass community.
The quilt has been selected by an international Jury for Venice Glass Week.
